Pomelo, also known as Citrus maxima or Citrus grandis, is a large citrus fruit that is native to Southeast Asia. It is the largest of all citrus fruits, and can range in size from a small grapefruit to as large as a basketball. The pomelo has a thick, green or yellow rind that is easy to peel, revealing a sweet and juicy pulp that can range from pale yellow to pink or red in color.
Pomelo is a good source of vitamin C, fiber, and other beneficial plant compounds, such as flavonoids and limonoids. It has a unique flavor that is both sweet and tart, and is often compared to a grapefruit or a mild, sweeter version of a lemon.
