U.S ORANGE JUICE SALES FALL

Published

on

Due to customers’ concerns about the high sugar content of orange juice and their shifting dietary patterns, sales of orange juice in the US have fallen to a historic low. Data from market research company Nielsen shows that between 2005 and 2018, orange juices sales in the US decreased by 39%. The drop has been ascribed to rising consumer knowledge of the health dangers of ingesting large amounts of sugar as well as shifting customer preferences towards breakfast options that can be consumed quickly and conveniently.

Orange juice producers try to reinvent their products as nutritious and healthy, but sales are still falling. Although some businesses have made an effort to offer products with less sugar or without sugar, the trend has not been reversed.

The rising understanding of the high sugar content in fruit juices is one of the primary causes of the drop in orange juices sales. As part of a balanced diet, many health professionals now advise restricting consumption of sugary drinks, including orange juices. Some consumers have changed to lower-sugar substitutes like water or unsweetened tea as a result of this.

Sales of orange juice are declining in the US, which is a reflection of a broader trend among consumers to adopt healthier eating and drinking routines. More consumers are choosing lower-sugar alternatives or giving up sugary drinks completely as they become more aware of the health dangers linked to consuming large amounts of sugar.

Due to many individuals staying at home and drinking less on-the-go liquids like orange juices, the COVID-19 epidemic has also had an effect on orange juices sales.

Despite these obstacles, some businesses are attempting to revive the orange juices market by releasing new goods and running advertisements that highlight the advantages of orange juice in terms of convenience and health.
