According to GroentenFruit Huis’ export data, Dutch onion exporters have once again surpassed the 1-million-ton barrier, marking a significant milestone.
Exports of onions have ranged between 12,000 and 15,000 tonnes during the last eight weeks. However, this year’s shipments are more than five weeks behind last year’s in terms of volume.
About 130 places have received onions this season from the Netherlands. Notably, Senegal takes the top spot with almost 162,000 tonnes of onion purchases. Following closely behind are Great Britain and Ivory Coast, both acquiring 124,000 tons of onions each.
